FASU Games

14 Jul 2016 - 11:30

UCT athletes won two medals at the 2016 FASU Games held at the University of Johannesburg during the July vac. Zane Weir (shot put, silver) and Tanya Scott (800m, bronze) were the sole representatives of UCT, but still managed to finish 11th on the athletics medals table and 16th overall. Scott also participated in the 5000m, where she finished 4th (she withdrew from the 10 000m due to severe cold and ran the 800m instead).

The FASU Games are a multi-sport tournament where institutions, rather than countries, from all over Africa participate.
